Terms & Conditions

The terms on which Travell Compass sells and operates Char Dham and Do Dham tour packages.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of this website and every tour, package or travel service booked with Travell Compass ("the Company", "we", "us"). By submitting an enquiry, paying an advance or travelling with us, you ("the Guest") accept these terms on behalf of every person in your booking.

1. Definitions

  • Tour / Package — the itinerary, services and inclusions described in the written quotation or confirmation voucher issued to you.
  • Booking — a tour confirmed by us in writing after receipt of the advance payment.
  • Quotation — the itemised price we send you, valid for the period stated on it.

2. Enquiries and quotations

Prices shown on this website, including any "starting from" price, are indicative and are based on a minimum group size, a standard room-sharing basis and the travel season. The applicable price for you is the one in your written quotation. Quotations are valid for 7 days unless stated otherwise, and are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Goods and Services Tax (GST) and any other statutory levy is charged as applicable.

3. Booking and confirmation

  • A booking is confirmed only when the advance payment is received and we issue a written confirmation.
  • You must provide the correct full name, age, gender and identity details of every traveller. We are not responsible for a denied hotel check-in, denied Yatra registration or denied boarding caused by incorrect or incomplete details supplied by you.
  • Payment terms are set out in our Payment Policy.

4. Mandatory Yatra registration and documents

Registration with the Government of Uttarakhand is compulsory for the Char Dham Yatra. We complete this on your behalf using the details you give us. Every traveller must carry the original government photo identity used for registration. Entry to a shrine may be refused by the authorities if documents do not match, and no refund is payable in that situation.

5. Health, fitness and your own responsibility

The circuit reaches altitudes above 11,000 ft and includes trekking sections, including approximately 6 km to Yamunotri and 16 km to Kedarnath. You confirm that every traveller is medically fit for high-altitude travel and has disclosed to us in writing any heart condition, respiratory illness, diabetes, pregnancy, recent surgery or mobility limitation. We may, on medical or safety advice, ask a traveller not to proceed on a particular section. Travellers participate at their own risk and are expected to follow the instructions of our staff and of the local authorities at all times.

6. Inclusions and exclusions

What the tour price covers and what it does not is listed on the package page and repeated in your quotation. Anything not expressly listed as included is excluded. Personal expenses, pony and palki charges, VIP darshan or special puja fees, lunches, medical costs and travel insurance are excluded unless stated otherwise in writing.

7. Changes to the itinerary

Mountain travel is unpredictable. We reserve the right to alter the route, the order of the shrines, the hotels or the mode of transport where this is necessary because of weather, landslides, road closures, strikes, shrine opening or closing dates, overcrowding, government or administrative orders, or the safety of the group. We will inform you as soon as we can and provide the nearest available alternative of a similar standard. Where such a change reduces the cost of the tour, the saving is passed on to you; where it increases the cost, the difference is payable by you.

8. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellations by you or by us, and the refunds payable, are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

9. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, cloudbursts, landslides, earthquakes, floods, epidemics or pandemics, acts of government, closure of shrines, civil unrest, strikes, war or terrorism. In such cases we will make reasonable efforts to recover what we can from suppliers on your behalf, but amounts already paid to and retained by hotels, transporters or government agencies are not refundable by us.

10. Limitation of liability

  • We act as a tour operator and booking coordinator. Hotels, transport operators, drivers, pony and palki operators and guides are independent service providers. We select them with reasonable care but we are not liable for their acts, omissions or defaults beyond our role as coordinator.
  • We are not liable for loss, injury, illness, death, delay or damage to property arising from altitude sickness, accidents, road conditions, weather, wild animals, theft, or the act or negligence of a third party.
  • Our total liability in connection with any booking, however arising, shall not exceed the total amount actually received by us from you for that booking.
  • We strongly recommend that every traveller buys comprehensive travel and medical insurance.

11. Conduct

Travellers must respect the religious customs of the shrines, the instructions of temple authorities and the laws of India. Consumption of alcohol, narcotics or non-vegetarian food is not permitted during the yatra portion of the tour. We may, without refund, remove from the tour any traveller whose conduct endangers or seriously inconveniences others.

12. Photography

We may photograph groups during the tour and use such photographs for our own promotional purposes. Tell us in writing before departure if you do not wish to be included, and we will honour that.

13. Website content and intellectual property

All text, layout, logos and material on this website belong to Travell Compass or are used with permission, and may not be copied or republished without our written consent. Photographs of shrines and landscapes are representative of the destinations and are not a guarantee of specific weather, visibility or conditions on your travel dates.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The parties will attempt to resolve any dispute amicably before commencing proceedings.
